You cut the vines entangling Korinth. The vines do not simply break, however. The blade breaks off like dust and dissolves into the parts of the vines that it touched. The vines jump back and shrivel up. Then, in a chain reaction, the vines all around you begin to shrivel and turn brown. After a moment of chaos all around you, everything stops moving. Airim breaks free of the dead vines and finds that the vines are now easy to cut. After some hacking and slashing, you manage to create an exit. No gnolls are in sight. They must be stuck inside. You and Airim and Korinth run out of the jungle and find yourselves back at where the battlefield was.
Korinth is brought in front of the king to decide his fate. The change in Korinth's heart is clear and it is visible to the king. His final decision is to allow Korinth to continue rule over his kingdom, small as it may now be. The peace between kingdoms is better than the defeat of the other. Although you disobeyed orders, you are rewarded for your excellent judgment and rescuing a might warrior. You are appointed to the king's council where you live out your days in full.
